Support the Development

Dear Mayor and City Councilmembers,

I am writing to express my strong support for City funding for Neighborhood Congregational Church’s affordable housing development.

The Planning Commission recently voted unanimously to approve this affordable housing project, with 28 affordable apartments and one resident manager unit, under California Senate Bill 4. After a thorough public review process, the project has secured its entitlements and is now positioned to move forward.

I urge the City Council to provide the funding necessary to help make these affordable apartments a reality. I encourage you to support the amount of gap funding necessary to make this project work.

By investing in this approved project, the City can leverage other funding to create much-needed affordable housing while advancing community goals related to housing opportunity, economic diversity and long-term neighborhood stability.

The Planning Commission has done its work and determined that this project meets the requirements of state law and local planning standards. I respectfully encourage the City Council to take the next step and authorize funding for this important community investment.
